Following changes to Sky Racing scheduling, the start time of the following race was

updated:

Race 5: Rescheduled to commence at 3.53pm.

 

Race 1: Mitcon Projects Handicap 0-58 – 1200m

PUB CRAWL (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 300m, steadied when another runner lay outwards.

MIAMI BABY (J Lyon) – Dwelt at the start and commenced awkwardly, losing ground.

MISS BOOM (J Doyle) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: voco Darwin Suites TROBIS 3YO BM68 Handicap – 1200m

HAMMURABI (R Vigar) – Made contact with another runner when jumping. Lost near-fore plate during running.

YULE POINT (D Barton) – Raced wide throughout and lay outwards passing the 400m and made the turn into the straight extremely wide.

SNAPPY SWEETHEART (W Davis) – Made contact with another runner when jumping.

TEXTURE (J Hampson) – Slow into stride.

Race 3: Mittys Maiden SW – 1100m

MACAVERTY (J Booth) –Slow into stride. Over raced in the middle stages and steadied. Taken outwards to obtain a clear running passing the 200m.

OPULENT OSCAR (P Shiers) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

D’AMBIDEX (J Lyon) – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 600m, steadied when racing in restricted room. Raced wide from the 600m.

ONE LAST PROMISE (D Barton) – Bounded on jumping getting its head up and losing ground. Leaving the 200m laid outwards under pressure. Lost off-hind plate in running.

DESI’S SPIRIT (J Doyle) – Rider reported that the filly hung out throughout the race.

VATICAN ROSE (I Luximon) – Shifted inwards on jumping, bumping another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have returned with an elevated heart rate and was uncoordinated in its gait (ataxia). Trainer K Healy was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness will be required prior to the filly starting in a trial or race.

BRAVE HERITAGE (A Sweeney) – Difficult to load. Approaching the 600m steadied when inclined to lay outwards.

Race 4: Silk Laser Clinics Flying Sprint – 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

ZOURATA (D Gillett) – Cast near-hind plate in running.

LIM’S IDA (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly losing ground.

ANSON BAY (R Bensley) – Bounded on jumping losing ground. Approaching the 200m was taken outwards to obtain clear running.

Race 5: H On Mitchell Sprint 0-66 – 1000m

THROW AT DA STUMPS (L Maloney) – When going on to the track to do its preliminary the gelding struck the outside fence. Underwent a veterinary check behind the barriers and was subsequently cleared to take its place in the field.

KISSING SUPIDO (J Todd) – When questioned, rider explained that he had been instructed to lead or race forward as the gelding needs to be prominent to give its best. Trainer G Clarke confirmed these instructions, explaining that in his opinion, after challenging for the lead, had the gelding been taken back, it would not have raced competitively. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Now subject to the provisions of AR79(4).

Race 6: NT News Handicap 0-70 – 1600m

WINE BARRON (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: TAB Metric Mile – 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer K Petrick in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

KOMACHI (J Hampson) – Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding returned with an elevated heart rate.

COTEHELE (R Vigar) – Bumped on jumping. Over raced middle stages. Restrained near the 1400m.

VENTING (A Sweeney) – When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance as compared to the gelding’s last run on 11th July 2026, Trainer K Petrick advised that the addition of blinkers to the gelding for today’s race had been beneficial and in her opinion, explained the improvement.

VEGA MAGNIFICO (J Lyon) – Bumped on jumping.

REMATCH (R Bensley) – Commenced awkwardly.

CROWN WATERS (H Le Blanc) – Raced wide early and middle stages.

General: In relation to an incident which occurred near the 1400m where COTEHELE (R Vigar) restrained losing ground, Stewards questioned riders R Vigar (COTEHELE) and J Todd (WOLFBURN). It was established that prior to the incident COTEHELE was racing keenly and after restraining commenced to over race. After considering the evidence of both riders and viewing the relevant vision of the incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that the evidence was inconclusive and proceeded no further with the matter, apart from advising jockey J Todd that he is to ensure that he is clear of other runners when shifting ground.
