Race 1: Duncan Electrical/Foxalicious Fruit Handicap 0-70 – 1100m

LUNA FIELD (B Cray) – The gelding was pulled up at the 100m and did not finish the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have cast the off-fore shoe in running and had suffered an injury to the near-fore tendon. Trainer N Dyer was advised he must present a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding racing again.

JUICE BOX (J Booth) – Leaving the mounting yard en route to the barriers the mare contacted the mounting yard gate; the mare underwent a veterinary check behind the barriers and was subsequently cleared to take its place in the field. Raced wide throughout. The rider reported the mare lay out most of the race.

CHIEF WHITE SOCK (D Hirini) – Lay out under pressure in the straight.

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

FRAWLEY (L Maloney) – Fractious in the barriers prior to start. Due to the geldings disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination was conducted and was revealed that the gelding had banged its head on the barriers, and it had a scratch on its face and a laceration in its mouth.

BRAZEN SAILOR (L Boyd) – Commenced awkwardly.

YAKI ISHI (B Cray) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m.

LAVENDER GLORY (J Doyle) – Raced wide from the 600m.

NO I’M NOT (D Hirini) – Bounded at the start and was slow away.

SAXON BEACH (D Gillett) – Rider reported the gelding had tied up during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

VENTING (S Tsaikos) – Bumped at the start.

THE GIRL’S BOY (L Maloney) – Raced wide into the first turn.

PRINCE JOFRA (W Davis) – Bumped at the start, raced wide on straightening. A post-race veterinary examination was conducted and was revealed that the gelding had cast both near-fore and off-fore shoes and had also ripped a section of hoof wall on both front hoofs. Trainer J Manning was advised he must present a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding racing again.

HOTIM ENGLISH (J Booth) – Reared at the start and lost considerable ground. Due to the geldings disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination was conducted and revealed no abnormalities.

PRINCESS PANCAKES (D Barton) – Commenced awkwardly and was slow into stride.
