Race 1: Ladbrokes Punter Assist Handicap 0-58 - 1100m
Trainer K Petrick was interviewed in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders as she had multiple runners in this event.
HELLIVIT (P Denton) – Began awkwardly.
STARTON (D Hirini) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages before laying inwards under pressure from the top of the straight.
BON’S A LAD (App. J Booth) – Began awkwardly.
BODMIN BOY (I Luximon) – Slow into stride.
SNICK (J Philpot) – Slow into stride.
MILLIONAIRE LOVER (App. L Maloney) – Fractious in the barriers.
Race 2: Book Now Red Centre Racing Awards 10th Oct Handicap 0-70 – 1000m
ROCK OF KRYPTONITE (J Philpot) – Began awkwardly. Momentarily steadied off heels at the 500m when DYER rolled in slightly whilst racing forward.
VERBOSITY (App. L Maloney) – Ridden hard early to obtain a forward position. Lay out rounding the home turn.
DYER (P Denton) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner. Lay inwards slightly approaching the 500m.
DOWN THE WICKET (I Luximon) – Shifted inwards abruptly at the top of the straight when tested with the whip.
TELLEZ (NZ) (B Cray) – Raced wide throughout.
MISS TOP GUN (App. J Booth) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Steadied between runners at the 900m when restricted for clear running. Shifted outwards off heels at the 100m to obtain clear running.
Race 3: JJ’s Waste & Recycling Handicap BM54 - 1400m
VALLEY PRINCE declared a late scratching at 2:33pm on veterinary advice after the gelding was found to be lame in the off-fore. Trainer W Savage was advised that he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the gelding again starting in a trial or race.
KIEFFER (I Luximon) – Raced wide into the home straight.
MUMMSIE (App. L Maloney) – Began awkwardly.
LEAN ON ME (App. D Barton) – Began awkwardly and raced wide in the early and middle stages.
BRAZEN SAILOR (D Hirini) – Slow into stride.
NASHA (B Cray) – Slow into stride.
Race 4: Derby Day 31st Oct Handicap – 1400m
Trainer K Petrick was interviewed in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders as she had multiple runners in this event.
BAHAMA BAY (App. L Maloney) – Steadied off heels for a number of strides passing the 1100m when the front runner (GRINZINGER LASS) eased the pace. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
MATRON SAMSING (App. D Barton) – Began awkwardly.
MAGARTEN (B Cray) – Raced keen early and was forced to go into a more forward position when the pace slowed in front.
GRINZINGER LASS (I Luximon) – Steadied the pace abruptly for a number of strides passing the 1100m.
General: On inquiry, I Luximon (GRINZINGER LASS) was issued with a reprimand acting under AR131(d) in that passing the 1100m, he reduced the speed of his mount for a number of strides causing BAHAMA BAY to have to steady off its heels resulting in it losing its forward position.
